What I love about photography is that it is an art form that can be produced by anyone, enjoyed by anyone and be as individual as every one of us.
Photography is no different to painting, drawing, sculpture, architecture, movies, ballet, to name just a few, these are all art forms and all have their own styles and consequently their own followers.
I'm sure nearly everyone that has picked up a camera and recorded something, has a 'favourite' image or two, I have and I wouldn't swap them for anything.
A photograph is an evocative thing, it is a trigger to our memory, it can produce emotions of utter sadness or hilarity, produce beautiful art, record things faithfully or be a base to be manipulated to produce eye catching imagery using digital manipulation.
The best part about photography is that if you love an image that you've made and it breaks every rule, it is not wrong or a bad image.
I stared in photography in 1971 and spent a good part of my life as a press photographer and television news cameraman, that's why some photo's have a 'commentary' feel to them. I look at those photo's and remember things that still reduce me to tears now and then look at other images and they produce a smile every time.
I hope you like my images, they are part of my soul.
